Electric Distribution Superintendent
Salary Range: $53.14/hour – $67.39/hour
Anticipated Hiring Range: $53.14/hour – $58.84/hour, DOQ

The City of Fairmont is seeking a full-time Electric Distribution Superintendent to join the Public Works & Utilities division. This position oversees daily and large-scale operations of the City's electrical distribution system by directing crews, coordinating projects, managing maintenance and inventory, and ensuring regulatory compliance. It is also responsible for developing work plans and budgets, supervising Electric Department staff, and maintaining safety standards.
The typical work schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. Additional hours may be required as necessary.
Minimum qualifications
- Two-year vocational college degree in electrical or related field
- Possession of Journeyman Lineman Certification
- Eight or more years of experience in the provision of Journeyman Lineman services
- Two or more years of supervisory experience
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, civil engineering, environmental engineering, construction management, or related field
Successful candidates must also have a valid driver's license and pass a criminal background check.

Liquor Store Manager
Salary Range: $41.90/hour – $53.12/hour
Anticipated Hiring Range: $41.90/hour – $46.38/hour, DOQ

The City of Fairmont is seeking a Liquor Store Manager to oversee all operational and financial aspects of the Fairmont Municipal Liquor Store. This role manages inventory, staffing, customer service, and compliance with Minnesota liquor laws and City policies.

Lifeguard — Aquatics
Department: Aquatics
Pay Rate: $13.50/hour

The City of Fairmont's Aquatics Department is currently hiring Lifeguards for the 2026 season. This position is responsible for ensuring the safety of pool patrons, enforcing safety rules, and responding to emergencies.
Applicants must have Lifeguard Training (First Aid/CPR/AED) certification and be able to lift and move 50 pounds. The City provides sick time per MN ESST guidelines.
